No Ongoing Danger, 2 Killed In Shooting At Oregon Hotel

According to police, two people died following a shooting at a hotel in Portland, Oregon.

Around 2 a.m. local time on Wednesday, Port of Portland responded to a shooting at the Embassy Suites Portland Airport Hotel. Police reported that a man and woman had been declared deceased. Their identities are still unknown.

According to a statement from the Port of Portland Police, there is currently no ongoing threat to the PDX airport or the neighborhood.

As officers led them out of the hotel, guests reported to Portland ABC station KATU that they heard at least a dozen gunshots and saw blood on the floor.

“I heard the screams of men and women — bloodcurdling screams,” Gailen David told KATU. “I heard the police yelling for everybody to get back into their room.”

Yellow crime scene tape could be seen at the hotel’s entrance, which is close to Portland International Airport, while police responded to the site. Moreover, officers could be seen questioning visitors who were bundled up.
