A 19-year-old city male was detained by Reading police after they claimed he threatened to shoot family members during an altercation on Wednesday and showed a gun.
Just before nine in the morning, police were called to the 300 block of Clifton Avenue in the Oakbrook Homes area. Thomas allegedly threatened members of the family with a gun, according to authorities.

Thomas was discovered by the police standing in the middle of the street. Without further incident, they gave him the command to kneel down and took him into arrest.
Thomas and family members, according to a witness, were fighting about the house’s sale. Thomas made claims about being a gangster while brandishing a handgun.
Police were informed by one of the victims that she feared for her life.
Soon after, Thomas drove off in his car and hurried to his bedroom on the second story. He came back and kept arguing with family members up until the police showed up.
The victims said that Thomas carried the gun in a fanny pack, however Thomas was apprehended without a fanny pack.
On a nearby street, his car was discovered by police parked and empty. A search warrant was obtained for both the house and the car.

A fanny pack, a ghost gun (a firearm without a serial number) with an extended magazine, another handgun with a serial number that indicated it had been reported as stolen, a digital scale, 15 bags of marijuana in various quantities, a sizable sum of cash, and two boxes of 9 mm ammunition were all discovered by police during searches of his car and room.
Following his arraignment before District Judge David E. Glass in Reading Central Court, Thomas was sent to Berks County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail while he awaited a hearing.
Thomas is accused of possessing marijuana, using a handgun improperly, receiving stolen property, and making terroristic threats.
