In Dadeville, Alabama, a mass shooting connected to a birthday celebration has resulted in four fatalities and a “multitude” of injuries, according to state officials.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said on Sunday that the incident took place about 10:34 p.m. on Saturday.
A birthday celebration was involved, according to Sgt. Jeremy J. Burkett. “This incident tragically resulted in the loss of four lives and resulted in numerous injuries.”
Burkett cited the pending investigation as a reason why he would not elaborate.

Gov. Kay Ivey of Alabama officially expressed her sympathy to the neighborhood. Ivey sent a statement to CNN saying, “This morning, I grieve with the people of Dadeville and my fellow Alabamians.”

The shooting in Alabama took place on the same day as Louisville, Kentucky experienced a gunshot into a gathering in a park. There were two fatalities and four injuries.
