After learning that his fiancée had left the country to have an ab0rtion, a man shot and ki!!ed her in Dallas this week, according to the authorities.
According to an arrest warrant document acquired by CBS News, Harold Thompson, 22, is accused of sh*oting and ki!!ing Gabriella Gonzalez, 26, in a parking lot on Wednesday after learning that she had gone to Colorado for an ab0rtion and returned the day before. In Texas, almost all ab0rtions are prohibited.
According to the affidavit, Thompson was thought to be the father and “did not want” the victim “to get an ab0rtion.”

Gonzalez was sh*t once in the head, placed in a choking grip, and then several additional rounds were fired after she went to the ground, as shown on security video, according to the police affidavit.
Gonzalez died there at the spot.

Gonzalez’s sister also admitted to the police that she had been passing by shortly before the sh*oting and had seen the pair together in the parking lot. When she heard the sh*ts being fired, she “looked back and saw her sister on the ground,” the affidavit adds. Thompson was later detained on suspicion of m*rder.
As a result of the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade in June 2022, trigger laws outlawing ab0rtion were passed in a number of states, including Texas.
The Texas law went into effect in August and prohibits almost all ab0rtions beyond six weeks of pregnancy.
