Alchemy Of Souls Season 2: It Has Been Officially Announced! The first season of the Korean drama Alchemy of Souls, which boasted stunning visuals and an all-star cast, has come to an unfortunate end. The show’s 20 episodes of high-octane, otherworldly mysteries just scraped the surface of the show’s expansive backstory.
Written by the award-winning screenplay team known as the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung-Eun and Mi-ran), Alchemy of Souls is set in Daeho, a made-up kingdom within South Korea that seems to be based on the Joseon dynasty. The first season focused on the emergence of Jang Wook (Lee Jae-Wook), a powerful sorcerer in Daeho who hides a sinister secret involving the illegal use of soul-shifting.
A new season of the K-drama is on the way, which is wonderful news considering the season finale left us in quite a state of grief and introspection. We’ve compiled every bit of information regarding Alchemy of Souls Season 2 thus far. Potential spoilers lie ahead.
Alchemy Of Souls Season 2 Plot/Story
So far, there has been no official word on what season 2 will entail. However, the Hong Sisters’ plans for the next season were hinted at in the recent finale. As the bonfire in the courtyard bursts into blue flames, Jang Wook appears, having been revived from the dead thanks to his identity as the King’s Star after his apparent death at the hands of Nak-us (using Mu-body decks as a vessel).
The real Mu-deok, meanwhile, is in critical condition after falling off a cliff into the sea. Moments after you fear she has perished, a pair of ghostly hands reach down and pull her to safety.
At the season’s end, fans are also treated to a tantalising preview of what’s to come in the second season. The brief clip shows Jang Wook on a killing spree with Nak-sword, su’s seemingly jumping ahead in time from the events of season one. Adding to the mystery of Mu-eventual deok’s fate is the intriguing hint that Go Yoon-Jung will reprise her role as Nak-Su.

Alchemy Of Souls Season 2 Cast
According to the aforementioned sneak peek at season 2, it appears that the entirety of the original cast will be returning for Alchemy of Souls. This includes Go Yoon-jung, who played the role of Nak-su in the pilot episode. Nak-su (Go) is expected to play a major role in the next second season, as reported by the South China Morning Post.
Lee Jae-wook, Minhyun, Arin from “OH MY GIRL,” Shin Seung-ho, Oh Na-ra, and others were all said to be returning and were subsequently shown in a sneak peek.
Reports have indicated that representatives for Jung So-min (who played Mu-deok) could not confirm her participation in Season 2. When asked about the season finale, the production crew told Soompi, “There are still two episodes remaining, so it’s tough to comment because it will be a spoiler.” It is possible that Jung will not return for the second season of Alchemy of the Soul due to the ambiguity surrounding Mu-fate deok’s at the end of the first season and Go’s reappearance as Nak-su, but this has not been confirmed.
