Demon Slayer New Season: Will It Release Next Year?

Season 3 of Demon Slayer has already been confirmed, so there’s no need to worry.

One of Japan’s most popular anime series, the first spin-off film of which, Mugen Train, was the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time, has gathered a worldwide following that is impatiently awaiting the announcement of its return.

Now that the Mugen Train and Entertainment District arcs of season two have come to a conclusion, fans will have to wait to see what Tanjiro and Nezuko get up to in season three.

All the details for the third season of Demon Slayer are here.

Demon Slayer’s Plot/Story

It has been established that the third season’s storyline will revolve around the ninth story arc of the original manga, the Swordsmith Village arc.

It is important to note that the Demon Slayer manga officially came to an end in the year 2020. This presents a special opportunity for fans of the anime adaptation, as they will be able to learn (approximately) what the future holds for Tanjiro and the rest of the cast.

So, here come the spoilers!
The Entertainment District arc comes to a close with Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui victorious over the demon siblings Gyutaro and Daki. The Swordsmith Village arc begins just where the Entertainment District arc left off.

Thankfully, Tanjiro’s demon-slaying sword was the only piece of permanent equipment that was lost during this epic encounter.

In the third season of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro will make a trip to the Swordsmith Village so that Hotaru Haganezuka can restore his sword.

During their time there, Tanjiro and the others will, without a doubt, face a horde of demons (including a Upper Rank Six that splits themselves across multiple bodies). Fortunately, Muichiro Tokito, also known as Mist Hashira, comes in to handle the thread.

Demon Slayer’s Cast

For now, we can only speculate about who will be back for the third season of Demon Slayer. Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, were introduced in episode 21 of season one and would be the two significant additions.

The following is a list of all of Demon Slayer’s main characters’ Japanese and English voice actors.

• Nezuko Kamado – Akari Kitô / Abby Trott (English)
• Inosuke Hashibira – Yoshitsugu Matsuoka / Bryce Papenbrook (English)
• Zenitsu Agatsuma – Hiro Shimono / Aleks Le (English)
• Muzan Kibutsuji – Toshihiko Seki / Greg Chun (English)

• Flower Hashira, Kanae Kocho – Ai Kayano / Bridget Hoffman (English)
• Tsuguko Kanao Tsuyuri – Reina Ueda / Brianna Knickerbocker (English)

Production staff members such as Koyoharu Gotoge and Haruo Sotozaki will also be returning. Character designer Akira Matsushima is among those who will also be returning.

Demon Slayer’s Release Date

The bad news first. For the third season of Demon Slayer, we’d expect a two-and-a-half-year break between the first and second seasons.

We estimate that the third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village will be released in the fall of 2023.

Fortunately, the official Demon Slayer Twitter account published the first teaser image for the third season in February 2022 and confirmed that the show was in the works.
