Doctor Strange 2: Is It Released Recently? It’s safe to say that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is jam-packed with action and wild developments for the future of the MCU, with the upcoming sequel set to link to a number of Marvel’s other Phase 4 releases, such as WandaVision and Loki, and have major repercussions for other upcoming Marvel films.
Doctor Strange 2 was originally scheduled for release on March 25, 2022, but has been pushed back for a third time until later in the year.
So, without further ado, here is all we currently know about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Doctor Strange 2 Plot/Story
Faced with many threats as the multiverse crumbles, Stephen Strange and Scarlet Witch link up. A big Marvel leak has revealed Scarlet Witch’s role in the film and her post-film destiny. Various monsters and villains, including an evil Doctor Stephen Strange, come to add to the misery of Karl Mordo.
This will not be simple. An old buddy turned enemy interferes with the scheme, prompting him to “unleash an awful horror,” according to Production Weekly. “It’ll be a massive MCU film with scary sequences in it,” Marvel’s Kevin Feige said, speaking at the New York Film Academy “
Following that, Cumberbatch discussed how the famous director Sam Raimi’s Multiverse of Madness is strengthening his character. He said that “being a part of the Avengers flicks was a delight, but you’re kind of just along for the ride.” “You do the best you can with the resources you have. “So, what do you want to do, and how can we solve this?” is asked a second time. It’s pretty creative. Occasionally scary.”
Doctor Strange 2 will be an “evolution” of the story explored in WandaVision, but not the end, producer Kevin Feige stated last month at a virtual Paley Dialogue. In other words, he teased that the story will continue somewhere.
Doctor Strange 2 Cast
The following individuals have been confirmed for the central Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cast.
In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch’s return as the master sorcerer Doctor Strange, the biggest news from the 2019 Comic-Con was that Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch would appear in the picture.
Producer Kevin Feige disclosed that her Disney+ streaming show WandaVision will be intimately connected to the plot of Doctor Strange 2.
Both Cumberbatch and Olsen appear to be portraying many versions of their roles.
The first trailer for the sequel confirms that Rachel McAdams will reprise her role as Strange’s former colleague, Dr. Christine Palmer, alongside Xochitl Gomez as the new inter-dimensional heroine, America Chavez.
Benedict Wong will also reprise his role as Wong, Doctor Strange’s closest ally and the next sorcerer supreme tasked with defending the cosmos from magical threats.
Doctor Strange 2 Release Date
According to Marvel executive Victoria Alonso, the much-anticipated project began filming in London in late 2020 and concluded in April 2021, but was later undergoing reshoots.
Alonso said on the red carpet for Spider-Man: No Way Home that reshoots are nearly complete.
“No, we have not completed [Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness] yet.” That is the next one,” she informed a Variety reporter. “Additional photography is being taken, and we’re almost finished. There is so much more to come. You and I will converse during the entire year.”
Due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic, the film’s release date has been pushed back twice, along with all of Marvel’s Phase 4 films.
After its original release date of November 2021, Doctor Strange 2 was originally scheduled to be released on March 25, 2022, before its release date was pushed back to May of the following year.
Kevin Feige told Variety about the newest delay, which has impacted the release of all MCU films next year, “It’s production shifts and changes, and because we have so many slots, we can simply relocate slots. Thus, all Marvel slots remain the same; we are simply moving the release dates of upcoming films.
“And yes, Strange has been pushed back six weeks, so instead of three months between Marvel films, there will be five months, which I believe we can all handle.”
