Who Exactly Is This Ron Gibbs

The Australian-born rugby league footballer Ron Gibbs (born 14 April 1962), better known by his alias “Rambo,” played professionally in Australia and England. He was a three-quarter back or second-row forward for the Australian Aboriginal and Country New South Wales national teams, and he played club football in the New South Wales Rugby League for Eastern Suburbs, Manly-Warringah, Gold Coast-Tweed, and Western Suburbs, and in England for Castleford.

Gibbs was picked by South Sydney, who finished last in the regular season, despite making negotiations with Wests over the offseason of 1990–1991. Wests had added a number of class players and were hoping to make the finals for the first time since 1982.

After refusing to play for South Sydney, Gibbs won a unanimous vote in court on March 12, 1991, despite the Rabbitohs’ continued unwillingness to release him. While Terry Hill and Emosi Koloto are more renowned for having their similar appeals denied, Gibbs’s win stands in stark contrast. Gibbs played for the Magpies for one season before calling it quits.
