The couple rushed into marriage after a whirlwind romance, with Burzis popping the question to her in May of 2005 and the wedding taking place in December of that same year in Punta Cana.

Burzis established a strong reputation for himself at the University of Louisiana, where he served as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s tennis teams. Hoda was working as a news anchor for a local station in New Orleans at the time of their first encounter, which is how she became acquainted with Burzis.

Burzis, on the other hand, discovered that his apartment had been flooded as a result of Hurricane Katrina in 2006, and he had to deal with his own personal challenges while they were married.

Not much time passed before the couple was subjected to additional challenges, at which point Hoda served him with divorce papers.
