How Old Was Padme in Episode 1:  George Lucas is the director of the first film in the Star Wars franchise, which was released in 1977. Star Wars is an American multimedia series with a space-based concept (Episode IV: New Hope). It has been adapted into a number of other television shows as well as animated films.

There have been many more extensions produced out of the Star Wars theme, such as video games, comic books, novels, and even some theme-based venues such as parks. These expansions include:

The Walt Disney Company handed out a check for $4.05 billion to George Lucas in 2012 in order to acquire the rights to the brand. After that, Disney separated the Star Wars franchise into two core groups: Star Wars Legends and Star Wars Canon, with Canon representing the “official” storyline of the series.

How Old Was Padme in Episode 1?

Star Wars began chronologically with The Phantom Menace. The fourth main series film, set in 32 BBY, is the earliest (Before Battle of Yavin). 32 years before A New Hope, the first Star Movie. Phantom Menace introduces young Anakin Skywalker. Anakin, a Tatooine slave, lives with his mother, works at Toydarian Watto’s scrapyard and trash shop, and races pods.

After finding his high-force sensitivity, Qui-Gon Jinn frees him and takes him before the Jedi Council. The Jedi Council deemed Anakin too old to train at what age? In 41 BBY, nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker left Tatooine. The Phantom Menace Anakin is nine. Anakin can be a Jedi despite his age.

He has lived too long with family and friends, creating material and emotional attachments, so the Jedi Council removes him. Some Jedi start training at nine like Anakin, but they were raised in a Jedi temple and indoctrinated not to form attachments. Nine years with friends and family makes Anakin too old for Jedi training.

As a Jedi, he struggled with emotions and attachments. However, Qui-Gon Jinn and later Obi-Wan Kenobi promise to teach Anakin the force to become a Jedi. By loving Padmé Amidala and having two children with her, Anakin breaks multiple Jedi teachings. He becomes Darth Vader after fearing losing Padme.

Who is Padme?

Star Wars prequels star Natalie Portman as Padmé Amidala Naberrie. The Phantom Menace introduces her as the youthful Queen of Naboo, who later becomes a Galactic Senate senator and anti-war activist. Return of the Jedi mentions her indirectly. After secretly marrying Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, she dies giving birth to Luke and Leia Organa.

Anakin becomes Darth Vader because of fear of losing Padmé. Padmé was praised for her personal and political ambitions and criticized for being used as a story element for Anakin’s dark side conversion. Lucas’s directing and storyline were also criticized for Portman’s acting.

Portman’s act earned her global fame despite mixed reviews. Padmé, one of the three main characters in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, also appears in The Clone Wars.

Star Wars: Plot

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, humans, aliens, and machines all lived in peace and harmony. Lightspeed hyperspace technology makes interplanetary travel commonplace in the Star Wars trilogy. There is a wide variety of planetary environments, from affluent, world-spanning metropolises to deserts scarcely populated by primitive tribes.

The Star Wars universe features analogs for nearly every habitat on Earth and many imagined biomes, each teeming with alien creatures, both intelligent and otherwise. The series also features other astronomical phenomena, such as nebulae and asteroid fields.

Everything from tiny starfighters to moon-sized space stations and enormous capital ships like Star Destroyers populates space. Two-way audio and video displays, holographic projections, and HoloNet are all mentioned as examples of communication technologies.

Is Anakin’s Age Difference From Padme Strange?

The apparent link between Anakin and Padme in The Phantom Menace makes many curious about his age. Padme was always Anakin’s future love interest and the mother of Luke and Leia Skywalker. Young Anakin thought Padme for an angel when they first met, and they grew close during The Phantom Menace. However, nothing obviously romantic happened until Attack of the Clones when both characters were considerably older, but many fans have commented on how strange it is to see young Anakin marrying the plainly much older Padme.

The age gap between the two performers was considerably larger and more evident, making it appear much greater. The Phantom Menace was filmed while Anakin’s actor Jake Lloyd was eight and Padmé’s actor Natalie Portman was sixteen. Because one actor was younger than his part and the other was older than hers, the age disparity between the roles seemed considerably wider than five years.

By Attack of the Clones, both characters were older, making a love connection more suitable. Hayden Christensen, nineteen, succeeded Jake Lloyd. By Attack of the Clones, Natalie Portman was nineteen and still played Padme, making her significantly younger than her character.
