In Gaston County, A Man Was Arrested On Federal Drugs Allegations

A man was taken into custody on Friday by the Fugitive Apprehension and Suspect Tracking Team (FAST) of the Gaston County Police Department, and he is currently being held in the Gaston County Jail.

Muhammad Abdur-Rahim was located in the vicinity of McAdenville Road in Belmont, as reported by the GPD’s FAST Team. In connection with a drug trafficking offense, he was wanted on federal charges of possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute it as well as possession of a handgun by a felon in connection with the crime.

According to the officers, Abdur-Rahim was out on bond for pending charges in Iredell County for possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, running to avoid arrest, trafficking fentanyl, and assaulting a government official with a lethal weapon.

According to the police, the GPD’s FAST squad requested assistance from Gaston County’s Emergency Response squad (ERT) as a result of Abdur-Rahim’s criminal history. They were successful in their attempt to apprehend Abdur-Rahim thanks to the collaborative effort of the group.

During the investigation of his vehicle, the cops discovered two pounds of methamphetamine in crystal form.

During the arrest, Abdur-Rahim was served with his outstanding federal charges and issued fresh accusations for trafficking methamphetamine. Both sets of charges are related to the same incident.

Adbur-Rahim is reportedly being held without bond at the Gaston County Jail at this time, according to the police.
