Katie Couric, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in the summer, has provided an update on her treatment. After being diagnosed in June, the former “Today” host underwent surgery in July and started radiation treatment on September 7. When she appeared on NBC on Monday, she announced that she had finished her 15 days of radiation treatment.

As of right now, I couldn’t be happier. I have a cold that I’m just now getting over, but other than that, I’m perfectly fine. She finally said, “I finished radiation last week.” They said it would tire you out, but I didn’t feel particularly drained after taking it. In July, I had a lumpectomy.

The timing of the diagnosis, she continued, “just makes me feel super lucky.” I’m glad I went when I did, even though I was late. Couric had a mammogram and biopsy this summer for breast cancer.
