South Korean actress Lee Seo Yi, known for her memorable roles in dramas such as Cheongdam-dong Scandal and The Divorce Insurance, has died at the age of 43. The news was confirmed by her manager through a heartfelt post on her official Instagram account, revealing that Lee passed away on June 20, 2025. The cause of death has not been disclosed, leaving fans and colleagues in shock and mourning.

“Our radiant, beautiful, lovely and kind unnie became a star in the sky on June 20,” her manager wrote, asking fans to pray for her peaceful rest.

A Late Start, But a Lasting Impact

Born Song Soo-yeon on April 18, 1982, Lee Seo Yi took an unconventional path to stardom. She graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, majoring in Czech and Slovak, and later completed postgraduate studies at Pusan National University. Lee began her acting career in her 30s, debuting in the 2013 historical drama Hur Jun, The Original Story. Her breakout role came in 2014 with Cheongdam-dong Scandal, earning her recognition for her nuanced performances.

Over the years, Lee built a diverse portfolio, appearing in both television and film. Her notable works include:
