Khloe Kardashian is here to tell you about her family and how it’s growing.
In an interview with Elle, the Kardashians star and mother of 4-year-old daughter True Thompson talked about the news that she and Tristan Thompson had a son via surrogate. The announcement came out three weeks after the interview.
Khloe said, “I know it’s a cliche, but I love everything, even the hard parts,” when asked how she’s doing as a mother of two.
She said that her kids “challenge me as a person” and that it is an honor and a gift to be able to “make little people into really amazing big people.”
Khloe said, “We need to take these roles seriously, especially now, when children have so much access to information and are so young when they learn it. It’s terrifying, but I’m very serious about my job. I like it.”
This was Khloe’s first talk with Tristan about her new baby boy. Last year, he was sued over paternity, but tests showed that he was the father of 8-month-old Theo Nichols with Maralee Nichols. (Tristan and Jordan Craig also have a 5-year-old son named Prince.)
A source told E! News that the founder of Good American was keeping the pregnancy a secret “to protect the privacy and safety of the surrogate and to keep the public from judging her mental health because of Tristan’s actions.”
An insider said that Khloe was so quiet about baby No. 2 that not everyone in her inner circle knew about it when the news came out, and she was “forced to confirm the pregnancy before she was ready to announce” it.
A representative for Khloe said in a statement to E! News on June 13: “We know for sure that True will have a brother or sister who was conceived in November. Khloe is very thankful to the wonderful surrogate for giving her such a beautiful gift. Please be kind and give Khloe some space so she can focus on her family.”
Six months before the baby news, Tristan publicly apologized to Khloe after paternity tests showed that he was Theo’s father with Maralee. Last year, Maralee sued the athlete for money to help raise Theo.
At the time, he wrote on social media, “Khloe, you don’t deserve this.” “You don’t deserve the pain and shame I’ve brought you. The way I’ve treated you over the years isn’t fair. My actions have nothing to do with how I feel about you.”
