Miss Scarlet And The Duke’s storyline revolves around Eliza Scarlet, in Victorian London, after she is left almost penniless when her father named Henry Scarlet unexpectedly dies. William is known in the police force as The Duke, a nickname that refers to the Duke of Wellington. Eliza’s late father, Henry, mentored William through the police academy after having saved him from the London streets as a child.
