New Mortal Kombat Game 2022: When Can We Expect the Big Reveal to Be Made?

NetherRealm’s next project could be either Injustice 3 or Mortal Kombat 12, according to a recent tweet from Mortal Kombat series director Ed Boon, who caused a stir online. While this may not be true for everyone, boon seems to enjoy answering questions from curious fans about what’s happening at NetherRealm.

In response to a fan’s tweet, he may have just revealed a central plot point for Mortal Kombat 12: the return of Konquest mode. Since its introduction 15 years ago, Ed Boon hasn’t included it in any Mortal Kombat game. A fan of Mortal Kombat Deception asked Ed Boon on Twitter if the game would be getting a remake or remaster, and Boon responded, “Not likely.”

Almost certainly, you’ll launch a brand new Konquest. On Twitter, Ed Boon (@noobde) wrote this on November 20, 2022. To date, neither Injustice 3 nor Mortal Kombat 12 have been officially announced, nor have any details been divulged, but it seems unlikely that Ed Boon would mislead us.

If you have never played Mortal Kombat, you may wonder, “What is Konquest?” The single-player mode debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and has since returned in Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Given that this mode has not appeared in any of the subsequent games in the series, hundreds of fans have signed a petition demanding its return.

In Konquest, you’ll find a way to discover the secrets of the game and master the unique skills of each playable character. Each round has a unique gameplay mode and a set of prerequisites to gain access to the unlockables. For example, in Deadly Alliance, you can’t complete the game without using every playable character.

When Can We Expect the Big Reveal to Be Made?

When can we anticipate an official statement from NetherRealm, seeing as how we haven’t seen any tweets from Ed Boon or heard anything from them? For our convenience, The Title Awards 2022 are drawing near; this is the same event that NetherReal and Warner Bros. will be attending.

In 2018, Games published Mortal Kombat 11. Thus it’s possible that in 2019 we’ll hear an announcement revealing which game will come next. In addition, Ed Boon has been very vocal as of late, discussing forthcoming projects in great detail, which may hint that an announcement is just around the corner.

It is essential to keep in mind that the reintroduction of the Konquest mode in Mortal Kombat 12 has not been officially confirmed. Thus there is no guarantee that the mode will appear in the game. Aside from that, it seems as though Ed Boon is excited about its return to the franchise.
