Mohamed Salah scored his 150th goal for the club as Liverpool rallied from behind to beat Norwich 3-1 and keep the pressure on Manchester City in the Premier League title race.
Luis Diaz scored his first goal since joining Liverpool from Porto to seal a 3-0 victory over the Reds at Anfield.
Norwich, which is in danger of slipping into the relegation zone, had a chance to cause an upset when Milot Rashica’s deflected goal in the 48th minute put Liverpool down. Liverpool was saved by Mane and Salah, who had just returned from the African Cup of Nations after serving their countries.
In the 64th minute, Mane jumped with his back to goal and acrobatically volleyed in a Konstantinos Tsimikas header into the center of the box.
Salah then turned Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn on the edge of the area and put in a low right-footed drive that dribbled into the bottom corner after controlling a long throw forward from goalkeeper Alisson.
Roger Hunt was the first player to score 150 goals in all competitions for Liverpool, and Ahmed Elmohamady is now only the 10th player to do so, having done so in 233 appearances.
Another one of them, Diaz sprinted onto Jordan Henderson’s defense-splitting pass in the 81st minute and deftly chipped Gunn with his left foot. Liverpool suddenly had four forwards on the field.
With nine points behind City, which plays Tottenham later in the day, Liverpool enters their game against Leeds on Wednesday with the advantage of having played a game more.
First-choice players Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson were both rested by boss Jürgen Klopp as well as Diogo Jota due to injuries.
