Simpsons Death Note: Is It An Horror Anime?

Simpsons Death Note: Is It An Horror Anime? The Simpsons, which is one of the most popular animated series in the United States, has never been one to avoid making fun of other shows when it was appropriate to do so. This even includes anime, and it seemed inevitable that The Simpsons would return to the medium given the exponential growth in popularity that anime has experienced in recent years.

And as a result of a recent rumor that came out of San Diego, we now know that the comedy show intends to include a reference to Death Note in one of its specials that will air this year.

A fresh claim from San Diego Comic-Con suggests that The Simpsons may incorporate elements from the universe of Death Note into their upcoming Halloween episode, which will air somewhere in October. As a result of the fact that the horror special will also pay homage to movies such as IT, movie lovers may anticipate some unexpected surprises in the next release.

It should come as no surprise that The Simpsons has also paid tribute to other anime in the past. Back in season 26, the show included references to a wide variety of anime, including One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Attack on Titan, and many others. The Simpsons family was particularly into Attack on Titan.

And in the year 2020, the Treehouse of Horror special added a new dimension to the franchise with the introduction of a multiverse. In one of these dimensions, Homer really stars as the main character in an anime.

Despite Krusty’s best efforts, Bart refuses to use the gun again, preferring to sit in front of the TV instead. It’s not long after this when he hears on the news that Sideshow Bob has been let out of prison, and he makes plans to murder Bart Simpson himself.

At the height of his panic, Bart recounts in the book that Bob died after being swarm-bombed, landing face-first in boiling water from a hot dog cart, and eventually being crushed by the inconveniently approaching Annual Steamroller Parade, all of which took place live on television.

Bart was right. Chief Wiggum adds that a detective by the name of “L” contacted them claiming to know the identity of the perpetrator. Bart wonders who “L” is, only to dismiss Lisa as a figment of his imagination. He tosses the book into the trash, vowing never to read it again.

Now is the perfect time for The Simpsons to incorporate phrases from the Death Note into their lexicon. The popular manga that was adapted into an anime has been around for many years and is still considered a classic by fans. Because of its supernatural chills and bloody crime, it is an excellent candidate for the spoof that Treehouse of Horror will do.

If we had to speculate, then it seems likely that Bart will be the one to find a death note and set the stage for the scary episode that will air in October. Are you looking forward to seeing how The Simpsons handle the Death Note storyline? Which other anime series ought the program to consider parodying more than it already has?
