This year’s shooting on South Beach over spring break is the second in as many years. Following two shootings that also occurred on Ocean Drive the previous year, the city enacted a midnight curfew.
The year before, during a boisterous spring break, there were nearly 1,000 arrests and dozens of firearms were seized, prompting Miami Beach officials to take action to calm the situation.
