Austin Eis, a 24-year-old man, was the driver. He was anticipated to face homicide and assault charges. The teens were purposefully run over, according to police.

Following the collision, the automobile was seen on its roof close to a bus stop by NBC4’s NewsChopper4 chopper.

The collision took place close to Westlake High School, along Lake View Canyon Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

Conejo Valley Unified School District Superintendent Mark McLaughlin stated in a written statement that the collision took place around 3:15 p.m. He continued by saying that students were struck when they were crossing the street.

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with these students, their families, friends, and the entire Warrior community during this time of unimaginable loss,” McLaughlin added. He also said that on Wednesday, there will be mental health counselors on hand at the school and other sites throughout the district for both students and staff.

According to the Simi Valley Police Department, the driver of the car was wanted for allegedly stabbing a Walmart clerk in the 200 block of Cochran Street. Around 2:42 p.m., a stabbing occurred, and the assailant escaped before police arrived.

According to Barrios, the man also stabbed a second victim inside the Walmart. They were both transferred to a hospital.

After the stabbing, the man traveled to Camarillo where he got into a “domestic dispute” with family members without anybody getting hurt, according to Barrios. The collision took place afterwards.
