The Elder Scrolls 6 is Almost Certain to Be an Xbox Exclusive

Microsoft dropped a clue about The Elder Scrolls 6 being an Xbox console exclusive while discussing why Starfield is unique to the Xbox console. Microsoft’s arguments favoring the Activision Blizzard merger were discovered in a document containing other gems.

In one of these gems, the Xbox manufacturer states that games like Starfield and Redfall have higher exclusivity value because they are new intellectual properties (IPs) that are often single-player and only appeal to dedicated gamers. On the other hand, games such as Call of Duty have a broad appeal and are dependent on an active multiplayer community to maintain their vitality; as a result, it would not make sense to make them exclusive in the near or distant future.

This information is provided during a section discussing Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda in March. As was reported by GQ, Spencer “says he sees the same for The Elder Scrolls VI,” and Starfield, the upcoming science-fiction game developed by Bethesda, would both be exclusive to the Xbox One and the PC.

Spencer is said to have provided some further background information. However, I would like for us to bring the complete shebang on Xbox to demonstrate all we have. When I think about Elder Scrolls VI, I have that perspective. This is undoubtedly the case when I think of any of our franchisees.

Even though the available data points to The Elder Scrolls VI not being an Xbox exclusive, we have reached out to Microsoft to see if they can confirm this. However, Spencer has been relatively open about how Microsoft’s partnership with Bethesda would result in games that are only available for the Xbox.

During a roundtable discussion that took place not long after the acquisition was officially closed, Spencer said the following to Xbox users: “if you’re an Xbox user, the thing I want you to know is that this is about delivering terrific exclusive titles for you that ship on platforms where Game Pass exists.” This is the end goal we are working toward and will serve as the cornerstone of the relationship we are building.

Spencer also mentioned exclusives in his blog post announcing the relationship. In addition, he said that the Xbox One, Windows 10, and the Xbox Game Pass will be “the best spot for gamers to experience future Bethesda titles.” “Gamers should be aware that with the arrival of the Bethesda creative teams, Xbox consoles, PCs, and Game Pass will be the best places to experience future Bethesda games.”
