Today while performing their duties, two Pennsylvania State Police troopers in Juniata County were shot.
PSP reports that one of the troopers passed away from his wounds while the other trooper was sent to a nearby hospital with significant wounds.
Around 12:45 pm, a guy and police officers got into a physical altercation in Mifflintown Township. One police officer was shot and brought to the hospital with critical injuries.
Around 3 p.m., a search was undertaken in Walker Township near Baumgardner Drive and Swamp Road in order to find the gunman.

According to PSP, the shooter and troopers engaged in a gunfight during which both parties were shot and d!ed.
The community is not in danger, according to the police, but they are requesting that people stay away from the area while the situation is still in progress.
With the injured trooper, Governor Josh Shapiro and PSP Colonel Christopher Paris are at the hospital.
The male subject’s name as well as the names of the two troopers involved will be made public later, according to the police.
