Banks entered this world on December 4th, 1973, in Inglewood, California. While still in high school, she started her career as a model. Four modeling agencies passed on her, but she got signed with L.A. Models. Then, at age 16, she moved to Milan after signing with Elite Model Management in Paris.

Higher Learning, a drama directed by John Singleton, marked her film debut in 1994. The Manhattan duplex that Banks currently owns is 7,000 square feet, and it comes equipped with a hair salon, a gym, and a mirrored dressing room.

The four-unit duplex in Battery Park City cost her $10.13 million when she made her purchase in 2009. In March of 2015, she put the apartment up for rent on the market for $50,000 a month.
