The suspect in a bank heist who is accused of holding four people and one child hostage inside a Wells Fargo outside of Washington, D.C., had his mugshot made public by Virginia officials on Tuesday.

In connection with the hour-long standoff that occurred at the Wells Fargo facility in the 3100 block of Washington Boulevard in the Clarendon district of Arlington, Virginia, Oscar Gonzalez Allarenja, 30, of Durham, North Carolina, has been charged with bank robbery and abduction.

According to the Arlington County Police Department’s preliminary investigation, the suspect entered the bank Tuesday about 3:09 p.m., seized a worker, said he had a gun, and demanded money before going behind the counter.

The individual remained besieged inside the bank with staff and customers while responding cops built a perimeter and sought to safely settle the situation, according to police. Members of the Emergency Response Team attended the bank during the event, gave the suspect orders, to which he responded, and took him into custody without further incident.

Four adults and one child who were customers and staff of the bank then left it in safety. No injuries were recorded despite medics evaluating everyone on the site as a precaution.

According to a release from the police department, no money was reported missing, and no weapons were found nearby.
