Margot Robbie is now the highest-paid actress in Hollywood thanks to her leading role as Barbie in Greta Gerwig's most recent film.

According to Variety, the 32-year-old actress, who originally gained widespread recognition for her role in the Australian serial opera Neighbours, was reportedly paid a staggering $12.5 million

Margot Robbie, the Australian stunner, has now officially taken the title of the highest-paid female actor in Hollywood. And it's all because of the exorbitant compensation she received from the highly anticipated Barbie movie directed by Greta Gerwig.

Millie Bobby Brown, who played Enola Holmes 2 and was paid a whopping $10 million for her part, comes in as the next female actor on the list, just below the woman who played Barbie.

Greta Gerwig is the director of the movie, and she and her romantic and professional partner, the filmmaker Noah Baumbach, developed the screenplay together.

In the upcoming live-action feature about the legendary Mattel doll, which will hit theatres in the summer of 2019, Margot will play the part.

Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, and Emma Mackey, who is best known for her role as Maeve in the critically acclaimed season of Sex Education on Netflix, have all joined the star-studded cast.
