The eldest of three children, Richard Branson was born on July 18, 1950, in Blackheath, London. Because he has two younger siblings. Due to his dyslexia, he was unable to perform well in school.
Branson’s parents were supportive of his entrepreneurial endeavors from an early age. At the age of 16 in 1966, Branson founded Student, a magazine for high school students.
Branson started his first record store in London in the early 1970s. Virgin Records was created by Richard Branson after he had made a profit from his record business
As an extension of his record company, he advertised popular records in the magazine in order to boost sales. His modest record store was an instant hit, and he was able to sell his records for cheaper than the big London record stores because of his smaller overhead.
For the first time in his life, Branson wed Kristen Tomassi in 1972. In 1979, they divorced. He married Joan Templeman in 1989 on Necker Island, where he had two children, Holly and Sam, with her.
