The 2024 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 4, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and Miley Cyrus will be performing her hit single “Flowers,” as verified by Billboard.
The news was initially reported by Variety. Paramount+ and CBS will both broadcast the ceremony live. Cyrus has, shockingly, not performed the song on television since its release in January 2023.
Cyrus began receiving Grammy nominations for the “Big Three” (album, single, and song of the year) sixteen years after her musical career debuted after Hannah Montana.
As a featured artist on “Old Town Road” (2019) by Lil Nas X and for his 1992 single “Achy Breaky Heart,” Billy Cyrus, Cyrus’s father, received two nominations for record of the year.
The only other parent-child pairs to get record of the year nominations are Frank and Nancy Sinatra and Nat “King” and Natalie Cole; the Cyruses are the third such pair. Also nominated for best pop solo performance is “Flowers,” which spent eight weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after its release.
The song “Flowers” was written by Cyrus, Michael Pollack, and Gregory Aldae Hein. You can find it on Cyrus’s album Endless Summer Vacation, which is up for best pop vocal album as well.
Burna Boy, Tracy Chapman, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Joni Mitchell, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, SZA, and U2 are among the other performers scheduled to be on the program.
It is believed that 21 Savage and Brandy will be joining Burna Boy. It is believed that Brandi Carlile will be joining Mitchell. The In Memoriam portion will also feature performances by Stevie Wonder, Fantasia Barrino, Annie Lennox, and Jon Batiste, who will pay tribute to Tony Bennett, Tina Turner, Sinéad O’Connor, and Clarence Avant, respectively.
