Amy Winehouse Death: How Did The Singer Die?
On July 23, 2011, Winehouse passed away from alcohol poisoning. She joined the infamous 27 Club at the age of 27, joining musicians like Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix. Back to Black overtook her as the best-selling record of the twenty-first century in the United Kingdom.
Recently people gave tribute to Amy Winehouse on her 12th Death Anniversary:
Today is 12 years since Amy Winehouse died. Amy Winehouse’s death is, in my opinion, modern pop’s greatest tragedy. It’s also 12 years since the then owner of Kerrang! rang me up and said, “um, is there any way we can bump whoever is on the cover this week and get Amy Winehouse…

Although she had a fulfilling life and even got to record songs with Tony Bennett, one of her favorites, it is nevertheless unfortunate that she died so young and for the wrong reasons.
Winehouse’s bodyguard claimed that three days prior to her passing, she had returned to her apartment in the UK. Despite drinking, she appeared to be in good spirits. Around 10 a.m. local time the following morning, he attempted to wake her but she was already dead. Her body had finally failed.

Later that afternoon, two ambulances arrived, and she was declared dead there. After she passed away, numerous news crews descended upon the area. Early in the new millennium, tabloids were at their zenith and the internet had not yet developed into what it is now. Even though everyone was starving, there was no “clap back” just yet. Winehouse was as much a victim of her time as she was.
Authorities discovered three bottles of vodka in Winehouse’s chamber, which may have contributed to her untimely death. She had a blood alcohol level that was around five times the legal limit.
Alex Winehouse, the singer’s brother, claimed that Amy also suffered from bulimia in latter years. Her drinking-related death was probably facilitated by her frailty. Bulimia is an eating disorder (and mental illness) when the sufferer compulsively induces vomiting. Similar to addiction, it’s frequently seen as a form of gradual suicide, Alex stated in 2013:
“She suffered from bulimia very badly. That’s not, like, a revelation—you knew just by looking at her… She would have died eventually, the way she was going, but what really killed her was the bulimia… I think that it left her weaker and more susceptible. Had she not had an eating disorder, she would have been physically stronger.”
On July 26, 2011, Winehouse’s funeral took place. The singer’s ashes are also interred at Edgwarebury Lane Cemetery close to her grandmother’s grave.
