A stabbing that occurred early on Saturday morning near the university is being investigated by the Iowa City Police Department.
After receiving reports of a stabbing, the University of Iowa issued a “Hawk Alert” at 2:08 in the morning, telling students to stay away from the area around the intersection of South Gilbert and Burlington streets. After around 10 minutes had passed, when police finally arrived on the scene, they discovered many victims.
Despite the fact that the Iowa City Police Department considered the incident to be “isolated,” the institution recommended students to be “vigilant.”
