Shooting at a home party in Chico early on Saturday morning left one teenager dead and five others hurt, according to Chico police.
According to authorities, two earlier events involving fighting and the brandishing of weapons resulted in the shooting in the 1000 block of Columbus Avenue.
According to authorities, a 17-year-old female was killed in the incident, which occurred early on Saturday. Five further shooting victims were transported with non-life threatening wounds to local hospitals.
A police officer described the event as isolated during the news conference and claimed that the community did not seem to be under any ongoing threat.

Around 12:30 a.m., a fight broke out after a suspect was asked to leave a home party in the 700 block of West 7th Street in Chico. From there, a sequence of events took place at other Chico locales.
Despite reports of many rounds being fired during the confrontation, authorities stated nobody was hurt. Two other partygoers suffered assaults. According to authorities, one was hit over the head with a bottle and the other took a bullet to the head.
In stable condition with “non-life-threatening injuries,” both victims were transferred to the hospital, according to the police.

Police were then called to a different party in the 1000 block of Columbus Avenue at around 3 a.m. when it was reported that a person arrived at the gathering brandishing a gun.
Police said they found a suspect who matched the description of the individual sought in the earlier assault as they were looking into the second incident.

Then, at 3:30 in the morning, officers were summoned back to the Columbus Avenue home after getting word that numerous individuals had been shot. According to the police, a suspect in that shooting is still being sought.
