A Joliet police officer shot Ryan Reddick, a 36-year-old convicted criminal out on bond who is still charged with many felonies in 2020, three times on Linden Avenue.
A few days later, Reddick received his medical discharge and was booked into the Will County Jail on suspicion of being an armed habitual offender, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon who had previously been convicted of a crime, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, and obstructing a peace officer.
Reddick reportedly fled from the car’s passenger seat while it was stopped near Gardner Street and Linden Avenue, according to the Joliet Patch. He dropped his gun as he fled the scene while running, pausing to pick it up after it fell to the ground.
“When the rifle slips from his grasp, he pauses, turns, and picks it up again. He might have killed the policeman just as easily “At the time, a source for Joliet Patch reported.
On the east side of the city, in the 500 block of Landau Avenue, Reddick resides.
