A child from Kentucky, 13 years old, was on vacation in the area of Destin, Florida when he drowned.
According to a report from a local CBS affiliate, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s office stated that they responded to a call for a swimmer in trouble at Miramar Beach just east of Destin at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
The crews, assisted by the United States Coast Guard, then began searching for the youngster who had gone missing and eventually located his body in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

The young man’s identity and the location in Kentucky from which he hails have not been made public at this time.
According to Okaloosa County, there were two red flags flying today over the Gulf of Mexico.
