A man was shot many times on Monday, and the Mount Vernon police said on Tuesday that they had arrested a 17-year-old kid on suspicion of attempted murder in the second degree and shooting in a drive-by situation.
On April 10, shortly after 1:40 in the morning, officers from the Mount Vernon Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of South Baker Street after a victim of a gunshot wound contacted 911.
When the police arrived at the scene, they discovered a male, age 22, who had sustained several gunshot wounds. He was taken by medical workers to Skagit Valley Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
According to the MVPD, the execution of search warrants resulted in the discovery of evidence that established probable cause for the arrest of the 17-year-old. Around 10:45 o’clock on Tuesday morning, he was brought into arrest.

After he was taken into custody, a search warrant for the 800 block of Garfield Street was carried out in order to gather any additional evidence. The police have discovered a second suspect who is now being held for questioning in connection with a separate investigation; investigators intend to seek charges against them as well.
