According to federal prosecutors in Los Angeles, a San Bernardino woman was given a four-decade jail sentence on Monday for acquiring custody of her own infant niece in order to create and distribute child pornography of the child.
In November 2022, Stefani Kasey Marie Stevens, 31, was found guilty on six charges of producing child pornography, one count of disseminating the content, and one count of acquiring custody of a child with the intent to manufacture child pornography.
The only way to assure that the predator never again assaulted any children, according to prosecutors in the Central District of California, is to sentence Stevens to life in prison.
However, Virginia Phillips, the case’s judge, gave Stevens a 40-year sentence and a lifetime of supervised release following her release.
In 2019, Stevens started after her 5-month-old niece after her sister-in-law, the child’s mother, took a job.
However, according to evidence presented at trial, just hours after taking the baby in, Stevens produced sexually explicit content of her and transmitted it to a man over the messaging service Kik.

Additionally, Stevens looked after a 7-year-old boy whose father was at work while also producing child pornography of that kid. Prosecutors claim that Stevens had custody of that youngster in October and November of last year.
Prosecutors claim that she had hundreds of other child pornographic videos and photos in the same online account where she kept the minors’ pictures and videos.
“Defendant’s behavior is disgusting. Federal prosecutors stated in a sentencing letter last month that Stevens “acted out her sexual fantasies on not one, but two children, including an infant.” They referred to her acts as “evil.”
