The abortion providers in the state of Texas would face even more restrictions on their funding if Senate Bill 959, which was just passed, becomes law.
Donna Campbell, a Republican state senator from New Braunfels, is credited with writing the legislation.
The funding is restricted as a result of Senate Bill 959, which lists open-enrollment charter schools as government organizations in the portion of the Texas Government Code that deals with prohibited transactions.
It is against the law for any government agency that receives funding from taxpayers to enter into any kind of business arrangement with a clinic or hospital that performs abortions.
The Texas Senate passed Senate Bill 959 that would further restrict funding of abortion providers in the state. https://t.co/SVUhNxPM6T
