According to a press statement from the Spokane Police Department, police detained a guy on Monday who is suspected of breaking into businesses in downtown Spokane in March and April.
43-year-old Marckus T. Beattiger was detained on suspicion of two counts of second-degree theft, one count of second-degree malicious mischief, and second-degree commercial burglary.
In the early hours of April 7, according to Spokane police, a man smashed a door lock and entered a downtown establishment near North Post and West Main Avenue. According to reports, the suspect stole goods worth close to $10,000.
Additionally, the suspect stole a credit card, which was used shortly after at other Spokane establishments.
Beattiger was apprehended on Monday after being recognized downtown by Spokane police.
According to police spokesperson Cpl. Nick Briggs, Beattiger may be connected to another theft from a downtown establishment that occurred on March 15 near West Third Avenue and North Division Street.

Additional charges may be brought as a result of the ongoing investigation into additional burglaries, according to the police.
According to the police, Beattiger has eight felony convictions in his past, three of them were for burglary.
