A Birthday Party Shooting In Brenham Left One Person Dead And Another Injured

During a birthday party that took place on Saturday night in the 1200 block of E. Tom Green Street close to Woodson Lane, the Brenham police department reports that one individual was killed and another individual was injured.

It was at 10:00 p.m. when it occurred, and the police say that when they arrived on the site, they found a large number of teenagers and their parents fleeing the area.

Two victims were located and treated by off-duty paramedics before the arrival of emergency medical services from Washington County.

Both of them were taken by ambulance to the Baylor Scott & White hospital, but unfortunately, only one of the victims survived their time there.

The age of the victim, who was a male, has not been made public by the authorities at this time; however, KWHI radio in Brenham has reported that the victim was 17 years old.

KBTX has heard from a number of residents in the surrounding neighborhood that they believe there were numerous suspects involved and that they fired multiple bullets.

Carolyn Miller, the City Manager, stated on KWHI radio that Jay Huffty, the Superintendent of Brenham Independent School District, has been informed, and while there have been no threats of reprisal, there will be heightened security at Brenham High School on Monday morning as a precaution.
