According to reports from the Cincinnati Police Department, an apparent murder-suicide took place in the Northside neighborhood on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of both a man and a woman.
At around 4:37 p.m., officers went to a report of two persons shot in the 4200 block of Chambers Street, which is a peaceful residential side street lined with two-story, painted brick buildings. According to the police, they found the scene.
Dayshawn Blair, 22, was pronounced dead at the site, according to the police, and a 19-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by the Cincinnati Fire Department.
However, she passed away from her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. Dayshawn Blair was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting is being investigated as a homicide-suicide by detectives and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, according to the police, who noted that Blair’s injuries were self-inflicted and that the incident is being treated as a gunshot suicide.
