Following a shooting that occurred at a house party in Lawrence, one person was killed and five others were injured.
The District Attorney’s office claims that the Lawrence Police Department responded to a complaint about a disturbance at 5 Royal Street, Apartment 3 at approximately 3 in the morning.
They discovered six people suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived at the residence.
The group of six was then transported to Lawrence General Hospital, where one of them was confirmed dead upon arrival. We are awaiting notification from the victim’s next of kin before releasing the victim’s name.
Two of the other casualties were transferred to hospitals in Boston via medical helicopter so that they might receive extra care.
Investigations into the shootings are being conducted by investigators from the Lawrence Police Department as well as the State Police Detective Unit, which is part of the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.

The gunshots are not thought to have been the result of a random act of violence, as stated by the police.
