Pinellas Father Is Charged With Killing A St. Petersburg Boy And His Mother; He Could Receive The Death Penalty

According to court documents, a St. Petersburg man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after allegedly killing his 2-year-old kid and the boy’s mother.

The indictment, which was released on Thursday, charges 21-year-old Thomas Mosley with fatally stabbing 20-year-old Pashun Jeffery and claims that he “unlawfully and from a premeditated design did cause the death of” a young child in his care.

The identity of the child is redacted in the indictment, although Taylen Mosley, Jeffrey’s son with Thomas Mosley, was previously identified by the St. Petersburg Police Department.

On March 30, Pashun Jeffery’s body was discovered at his unit at Lincoln Shores, 11601 Fourth St. N, but the young child was not there. The young mother had suffered more than 100 stab wounds, per the arrest reports.

Her son’s body was discovered in an alligator’s mouth in Lake Maggiore in St. Petersburg the following day. More over 10 miles separate the lake, which is close to Dell Holmes Park, from the apartment Taylen occupied with his mother. Later, the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the boy drowned to death.

Thomas Mosley, who is awaiting trial, was still housed in a Pinellas County jail as of Thursday night. Court records show that prosecutors intend to ask for the death penalty.
